Lisa Carrington: The journey of a NZ Sporting Icon

With New Zealand’s vast coastline and geographic location, it’s no surprise we are a nation with deep roots and a strong affinity with the ocean. For Lisa Carrington growing up in the Whakatane region, this was no exception. Following in her sibling’s footsteps, Lisa was heavily involved from an early age with Surf Life Saving at Ohope Beach. Her love of paddling grew from these experiences, and led her to her first competition success at national level in the surf ski. From there, further wins led her to K1, where Lisa quickly developed a deep love of the sport, and a desire to achieve greatness. Lisa’s story of coming from a small town and rising to become a highly aspirational female role model achieving on the world stage, is a strong and powerful one.

This mini docu-series follows the iconic NZ Sportswomen over a 6 month period by Under Armour and Southern Cross.
