ALL OUT MILE

The rain ,wind & thunderstorms did not stop the inaugural UA ALL OUT MILE event in Auckland taking place. The AUT Millennium Track on Auckland’s North Shore was transformed into a festival like set-up and played host to over 250 runners & an array of spectators across the local running community.

Grit & Entertainment was a strong feature throughout the evening. LED lighting, flame projectors and music from Jack Moody and Peter Urlich kept the energy & entertainment high throughout the night.

Individual Milers kicked off the night, to seek improvement of their benchmark mile and reap the reward of following the free 30 day training program from Under Armour. Run Crews; Speed Freaks, We Are Movement, Run 4 Auckland, AUT Millennium, 445 Run Club, Neighbourhood Track Club, Femmi RC and Sports Lab hit the track to battle our their personal bests and gain bragging rights within their crews.

The evening closed out with New Zealand’s best runners taking the start line for a combined cash prize pool of over $3.5k. The Elite Male race took off at ALL OUT pace with Zane Powell crossing the finish line with an official Fit Rankings time of  4:00. For the first time the Elite Women’s Race was the pinnacle race of a track  event. In the field of 10, Holly Manning triumphed as the winner in a time of 4:38.

Kiwi Pride took place and New Zealand also claimed 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in the regional competition (virtual) across both men’s & women’s. A clean sweep & the future of track racing is looking promising in NZ!

A big thanks to our event partners who contributed to make the night the success it was: Stuff Events, Sports Lab, AUT Millennium, Red Bull, Drink Pals, Steinlager Zero, Athletics Auckland, Pure Sports Nutrition & d3 Tape.
